Park City – Using Fire to Fight Fire Meeting Tuesday, October 25
Pool Remodel Update & Fire Safety Open House Meeting

The construction of the Phase I Pool Remodel is nearing completion. The pergolas are almost finished; trees, shrubs, and flowers are being installed now through next week. Statewide concrete shortages delayed the project, Mike Maninnen with Earthworks is doing his best to pour the remaining flatwork around the existing pool by September 9. We are hopeful for a mid September completion. The existing pool will remain open, weather permitting until mid September 2022.

A BIG THANK YOU to the Sun Peak resident that assisted in getting shotcrete for the new pool. Without their assistance we likely wouldn’t be able to complete the project this year. 

Wildland Fuels Reduction – Defensible Space has been completed in priority zones 1 the open space along highway 224. And in priority zone 2 the open space in Cedar Draw up to Rob’s Trail. Sun Peak has approximately 1,000 piles that will be burned this fall/winter.

Sun Peak Pool 2022

The Sun Peak Pool will open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend 2022. The Phase I Pool remodel is estimated to be completed by the end of July 2022, please pardon the mess around the existing pool. 

Sun Peak Courts Update 2022

The goal is to replace the existing courts in 2023, they are at the end of their life. Design concepts are being reviewed by the Courts Committee and will be sent to owners for comment by November 2022.

  • Election of 2022 Board of Trustees:
  • The property, affairs and business of the Association are managed by its Board of Trustees composed of five members. Each Board Member serves for a term of two years, and the terms of three (3) of the current directors are expiring. This year there are three incumbent members running for re-election. If you would like to run for the open seat(s), please submit your information to the Association 48 hours prior to the meeting. This vote will be held during the Annual Meeting of the members to be held on December 16, 2021, at 5:00 PM via Zoom, login information is listed at Sunpeak.org. If a quorum is not achieved, the vote will occur at the reconvened meeting.
  • Adjourn

Pool Pump Failure – Pool Closed 09/10/2021

The Sun Peak pool pump failed today. The pump circulates the water through the filters and heating system and is required for the pool to operate.  A replacement pump is on backorder and may take a few months to receive. We are looking into the cost and timing to have the existing pump rebuilt. We will let owners know if the pool will close for the season, or re-open until the weather turns cold. 

See the announcements below in the “Updated Pool Plan 08/18/2021” for the revised master plan of the pool area remodel currently in the final design phase. Please email us at sunpeakpc@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Community updates will be sent in the coming month on timing of the remodel and wildland fire mitigation planning.

Traffic Control Bear Hollow Drive

As of June 1, 2021 Bear Hollow Drive is scheduled to start August 16, 2021, and conclude August 27, 2021. Please keep in mind that our schedule is subject to change; you can find the latest schedule on our website at: https://summitcounty.org/672/Summit-County-Road-Projects-2021

Open Space Wildfire Risk Evaluation 

Sun Peak Master HOA owns 312 (+/-)  acres of open space. The Sun Peak Board has contracted with Alpine Forestry to consult for land management and forestry of the open space. The primary objective is to provide a comprehensive approach to wildfire risk evaluation and hazardous fuels reduction planning, including developing a priority project based on projected budget and identified high risk areas. Education is a crucial part of the solid foundation for ongoing support and success across the open space and private property. A web based interactive portal has been created for Sun Peak residents to obtain information on increasing their fire resiliency. The Board strongly requests owners visit this STORYMAP and adopt landscape and maintenance practices to protect Sun Peak neighborhoods. If making changes to your landscaping, or if you are willing to assist in cleaning up open spaces please contact the HOA manager for Design Guideline information at sunpeakpc@gmail.com
